The building has fascinating history. It was named the Lamphouse because in the early century it was the power generator for all lamps in the harbour. It became a high-end restaurant in the 1950’s and its success led to a move Glasgow, allowing for a fish and chip shop to take over. When it became a residence, the stone shed in the garden was made into a studio by an artist, and later a potter’s work shop.
This is an all-year-round holiday retreat, especially cosy in winter, and suitable for singles, families and groups.
Please be aware that, due to word of mouth, many bookings are made early for throughout the year.
